A special anniversary, many moving moments, and a strong signal for the future: Together with around 380 guests, WILHELM KÖNIG MTM GmbH celebrated its 80th anniversary on July 18. Employees, apprentices, retirees, and their families gathered at the company premises in Wertheim-Bestenheid to look back on eight decades of company history and celebrate this special milestone together.

The focus of the anniversary celebration was on the people who have made the success of our family business possible for 80 years. A historical exhibition with a timeline, exhibits, and selected workpieces showed the development from the beginnings in 1946 to today’s internationally active specialist for clamping tools and hydraulic components. Milestones such as the delivery of the 100,000th KÖNIGDORN or the recognition as a world market leader impressively illustrated our company’s successful path.

In his welcoming speech, Managing Partner Horst König thanked all employees for their daily commitment and their many years of loyalty:

“Your performance, your daily commitment, and also your loyalty over the past years and decades have made our success possible in the first place. You are the heart of the company.”

At the same time, he remembered the company founder Wilhelm König and his father Manfred König, who laid the foundation for today’s WILHELM KÖNIG MTM GmbH with foresight and entrepreneurial courage. Today, the company is already being managed by the third generation.

Managing Director Christoph Baumann also looked ahead. He highlighted the extraordinary cohesion within the workforce as well as the special customer proximity and made it clear that precisely these values form the basis for the future success of the company.

“Our customers do not simply buy a clamping device, a fixture, or a valve from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM. They buy experience, precision, reliability, and the trust that we will develop the right solution for their challenge together.”

Despite economically challenging conditions, WILHELM KÖNIG MTM GmbH continues to invest in its future, expanding its international presence and opening up new markets as well as future-oriented industries such as aerospace.

The guests of honor also included Wertheim’s Mayor Markus Herrera Torrez. He conveyed the city’s congratulations and presented WILHELM KÖNIG MTM GmbH with the City of Wertheim’s certificate of honor on the occasion of the 80th company anniversary.

“We can be particularly proud that WILHELM KÖNIG MTM, as a world market leader, enjoys recognition far beyond the borders of our region and carries the name of our city all over the world.”

Furthermore, the Mayor praised the company as an important employer and training company, as well as the entrepreneurial family’s long-standing social commitment to clubs and numerous projects in the region.

In addition to the official program points, the anniversary celebration offered numerous opportunities for personal encounters and shared experiences. Guided tours through the production facility provided exciting insights into modern production processes. The program was complemented by a photo box, numerous activities for children, and musical accompaniment by the Trio Katalda under the direction of Albrecht Hench, which entertained the guests with a musical journey through eight decades.

The company set a special sign for the future by honoring former apprentice Tom Kawczynski. He shortened his apprenticeship as a machinist by half a year and completed it with an excellent grade point average of 1.3. During the celebration, he was welcomed as a skilled worker in the drilling and milling department – an example of the high priority that the training of our own specialists takes at WILHELM KÖNIG MTM GmbH.

The 80th company anniversary was much more than a look back at the company’s history. It was a day of gratitude, encounter, and shared celebration – and at the same time a clear commitment to the future. With innovative strength, regional roots, and the commitment of our employees, we will continue to write the success story of WILHELM KÖNIG MTM GmbH in the coming years.
