Mechanical Clamping Systems
Single-taper clamping system, M1+M4
Single-taper clamping system from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM
The single-taper clamping system from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM was specifically developed for challenges involving short clamping lengths, medium and large workpiece diameters, and varying tolerances. It is characterized by its simple yet effective operating principle: the axial movement of the collet over the single taper generates precise radial expansion of the clamping point. The workpiece is not only reliably clamped, but simultaneously centered and stabilized by an axial pull-down force.
This principle enables secure clamping even with difficult workpiece geometries and ensures reliable holding with the highest precision. The system demonstrates its strengths particularly in automated processes or with frequently changing workpieces through simple and quick collet changes.

Segment clamping system, E1+E2
Segment clamping system from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM
The segment clamping system from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM is the ideal solution for clamping workpieces with compact to large clamping diameters. By using segment collets in different sizes, workpieces with varying clamping diameters can be flexibly clamped on a single base body. The expansion of the collets occurs precisely and reliably through movement over the single taper.
A special feature of the collets is the composite material made of high-quality tool steel and a high-tech elastomer. This enables them to achieve expansions of up to 1.2 mm depending on size, and they impress with remarkable longevity and load capacity.

Thread clamping system, G1+G4
Thread clamping system from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM
The thread clamping system from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM offers an efficient solution for precise clamping of workpieces. The system consists of a screwed-on collet mounted on a stable base mandrel. Through a specially ground thread profile and an axial force movement, the collet is precisely pushed over the profile, achieving uniform cylindrical expansion—even with long clamping lengths.
Thanks to this technology, tolerances up to IT 13 and beyond can be reliably clamped, depending on the application and clamping diameter.

Sliding jaw clamping system, M1
Sliding jaw clamping system from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM
The high-precision sliding jaw mandrel from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM is the ideal clamping solution for machining shafts where the centers form the basis for further machining steps. With a runout accuracy better than 0.003 mm, the sliding jaw mandrel meets the highest precision requirements and ensures perfect results in grinding, milling, and turning operations.
The clamping system is based on a well-conceived principle: after loading, the workpiece is precisely centered between the chamfer on the clamping system and the tailstock center. By actuating the pull rod, the evenly distributed, compensating sliding jaws are pushed outward via a cone mechanism. The sliding jaws press against the bore contour of the workpiece, ensuring secure clamping and efficient torque transmission.

Friction cone clamping system from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM
A key feature of our friction cone systems is the fast and simple clamping of shaft parts even in confined spaces between the clamping point and the machining area.
For clamping, the workpiece is pressed into the hard metal insert of the friction cone by the force of the tailstock center. After machining, the workpiece can be released from the hard metal insert using the integrated ejector tip. The ejector unit is actuated either by hydraulic machine pressure, machine thrust force, or by the spring unit.
Diaphragm clamping system, M4
Type M4

Diaphragm clamping system from WILHELM KÖNIG MTM
The outstanding feature of our diaphragm clamping system is the ability to reliably clamp delicate, thin-walled workpieces without distortion. The diaphragm is activated via a pull rod and applies uniformly to the component—for maximum dimensional accuracy with minimal deformation.
Specifically developed for machining internal gears, the system ensures process-reliable clamping of workpieces even at high speeds through the integrated centrifugal force compensation. The closed design reliably protects the chuck from contamination, while clearances between the clamping points enable targeted chip evacuation to the side.
The diaphragm clamping system is individually adapted to your machine interface and workpiece geometry—for highest precision, long service life, and trouble-free operation.
